As defined in international standard IEC , it classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects including body parts like hands and fingers , dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures. The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as waterproof. The digits characteristic numerals indicate conformity with the conditions summarized in the tables below. For example, an electrical socket rated IP22 is protected against insertion of fingers and will not be damaged or become unsafe during a specified test in which it is exposed to vertically or nearly vertically dripping water. IP22 or 2X are typical minimum requirements for the design of electrical accessories for indoor use. Ensure you have selected or entered the correct delivery address.

I personally used led strip to grow algae in my algae scrubber with sucess. You will still need a radiator to chill the leds and if its a shallow aquarium i think they might work well for LPS and sofies, maybe somme deep water SPS too like seriatopora gutatus.

The RGB led strips are much dim than one color only led strip so i wouldnt use RGB altough it looks good and you can change the light spectrum. Also ,why not use 10W led chips? Originally Posted by johnfallon Panworld ps return. Reef Octopus skimmer, 3 w mars aqua led.

I had some i put in a dark area in the back of my hood just so that i could see things in there better. NOT To light the tank. And the expensive stuff that runs it.

Also, RGBs definitely are dimmer than white or blue strips. I don't think you'd necessarily need a heat sink for s, just airflow over them.

I wouldn't try s without one though. Also, some on eBay are cheaper than others and just will burn out quickly no matter what. Here are some 6' tubes I had made with SMD chips.

With that being said the tape strips usually fail when put under any type of unusual conditions. Attached Images Tubes. IM Nuvo 20 and 10 at office! Kelvin temperature is not the same as spectrum. Look at it this way, you can put a clear blue cover over a light source and just because the light is blue it does not mean it can grow corals. I did not build them I had a factory build them for me.

I am in the LED business and work with many factories that build lights for me. Thread Tools. David A. Crandall, M. Fatherree, M. Shimek, Ph. All times are GMT The time now is PM.
