DEVI SAPTASHATI TELUGU PDF

This story is from August 9, Goddess Durga is said to be one of the most powerful deities in the Hindu religion. This all sums up to say that Goddess Durga blesses her worshippers with strength, patience and many such virtues, but she even destroys the things that need to be destroyed. She treats her worshippers just like a mother treats her children. She loves in a most caring way and she is equally likely to get angry when required. One of the best ways to appease her is by chanting her mantras.

The reading procedure of Devi Saptashati is given here in detail version. Many devotees are confused on how to recite this powerful text — on which day, which adhyaya chapter needs to be chanted.. Navangam is a method for which nine prayers are recited prior of starting reading the book. As per the prescribed methods in ancient scriptures, Devi Mahatmya should be read in one sitting. After finishing the recital of Devi Mahatmya, one should chant the Devi Suktam slokas 7 to 36 of Chapter 8.

Apart from one sitting recital, devotees read Devi mahatmya for three consecutive days: Prathama Charitra or 1 st Chapter on first day, Madhyama Charitra 2, 3, 4 chapters on 2 nd day, and Uttama Charitra chapters on third day.

Some devotees also read Devi Mahatmya in 7 days. They chant 1 st Chapter on first day, chapters on 2 nd day, 4 th chapter on 3 rd day, chapters on 4 th day, chapters on 5 th day, 11 th chapter on 6 th day and chapters on 7 th day. Each chapter should be read in single sitting. Due to any reason, Parayana is stopped in between a chapter; the whole chapter should be read again.

Here is the procedure to read Devi Mahatmyam during Navratri. You can also complete the recital on 9th day by chanting Devi Aparadha Kshama Prarthana Stotram on 9th day itself. Categories: Announcements. Tags: navarathiri. I am unable ti offer a comment but would only say that I am overjoyed to hear and learn of Devi! I beleive Devi as my mother as the Universal Mother. I read lots of confused question but seen hardly satisfactory logical reply. Once upon time i was very confused too with ritual.

Asked one question ,instead getting proper reply more confusion occured. I was fed up and decided what my heart say. I try to do everyday. Believe me i feel so good and I always feel Mataji is around me guiding me in every steps.

I even do not need to ask any material things. My wishes fulfilled in magical way n good positive energy in my house so i learnt that love and faith is most important than any rituals n sequences.

The Devi Mahatmyam begins with Maha Rishi Markandeya narrating how a virtuous king named Suratha, dispossessed of his kingdom meets the merchant Samadhi who too has been dispossessed of his wealth and cast out by his own wife and children — both plagued by thoughts of loss, betrayal and attachment to the past approach the wise sage Su-Medha, whose task it is to awaken them to a higher spiritual awareness.

The king, the merchant and the sage are archetypal characters that reside in all of us to differing degrees, characters with whom we can identify to varying degrees. As his name indicates, Samadhi, the merchant is single-minded or one-pointed in his pursuits. Being a merchant initially his focus is on wealth. Both of them approach Su-Medha means good intellect to overcome their betrayals and to move to a higher plane. The sage explains in Devi Mahatmyam which consists of 13 chapters to Suratha and Samadhi, how the Goddess takes different forms and kills each of the below demons — who are in fact within each one of us.

These demons are explained in brief, below 1. Kaitabh means a pricking thorn and signifies our aversion to things we deem as unpleasant. Both of these traits, which do much to make up our overall nature or temperament. The buffalo stands for tamoguna, the quality of laziness, darkness, ignorance and inertia.

We have these qualities too. We love to sleep. Although we may have a lot of energy and potential inside us, we prefer to do nothing — just like the buffalo that likes to lie in pools of water. To gain noble virtues, all evil tendencies in the mind must be destroyed. This destruction is represented by the Goddess Durga. Shumbha means doubting oneself and Nishumbha means doubting others.

Dhumralochana is one who sees everything hazy; there is no clarity of perception. Munda, on the other hand, has no reasoning at all. With Chanda and Munda, wrong logic and perception prevail c Raktabija: He possesses a unique power.

Whenever a drop of his blood falls to earth, another demon of identical size and strength springs up. Raktabija blood represent the overwhelming power of desire.

Like a seed, every desire that falls on the fertile soil of our mind grows to maturity and bursts with seeds for the next planting. Every desire produces the seeds of many more, and we find we are never satisfied. Killing of Raktabija represents killing of these tendencies in us. The war between the gods and the demons actually refers to the perpetual conflict between the forces of light and darkness, between righteous and unrighteous urges. Thus there are two opposing psychic forces within all of us, which with the help of a force you call such force by whatever name according to your religious orientation beyond our power, we have to over-come.

Hi, this post was very helpful. Could the author of the original blog post please clarify? Thank you. I want to know the procedure to be followed for doing samputikarna. I want to do this for my daughter marriage. You need proper srividya mantram initiation to chant this. You need to chant those mantrams several times before you can take this up. I need a little favour.. One of my guru told me to perform devi parayana in sarvamangala pallava.. Please clarify..

First of all one should have shraddha belief and prema on jagadamba and before, everyone should see HER in our parents. Hello there.. I have a query.. I have been advised to recite one chapter of durga Saptasati each day preceeding with the Devikavachh…is that okay by all means?

Kindly help me by guiding the steps of Chandipath , if i recite each chapter single day along with argala storm, Keal strom, Devi shuktam is it OK by all means. They have excellent tutorials conducted by one Mrs. Akhila Ranganathan and Mr, Raghu Ranganathan. They are Sri Vidhya upasaka. Hope this helps you. Cheers, Sujatha Srinivasan. This is enlightening but I stil want to know what is this Argla, Kilkam and ratrishuktam?

Why it is necessary to recite with Chandipath? Almost on every web I see that one must receive all these but no one has explain what are they actually? I mean their importance. Also there is shapvimochan. Each verses end with Brahma Vashistha shapad vimuktabhav.

I understand the translation but what is the reason to recite it. Whose has crushed and whose curse removes.

In Shivyog shivanandbaba has given big mantra in place of Durga shaptshati verses. Thanks for the wonderful information.

The entire Parayanam takes about 4 hours. Of course practices before and after the main recitation vary according to each group. This article will help them in future Parayanams.

Maha Periyavaa Saranam. At beginning of Devi Saptashati, detailed procedure of puja with Nyas, Mudra etc given. My question is whether detailed puja before reading is necessary or we can just go with reading as per your procedure. It is so powerful that many people avoid to read in fear of something bad will happen if there is any fault in reading. Which stotra should be read before reading saptshati path adhyaya in navratra. Devi aparadh kshamapana stotra should read right after parayana or after siddh kunjika stotra.

Very enlightening! I would like to know how many years of chant would be required to see the benefits. I understand from my guru that reciting narayaneeya stuthi 11th chapter for 41 days continuously with lamp lit with ghee will give you the purpose of your prayer. Devi will be always with you, will protect you from all your worries.

Dear Sir, could you please write posts on Devi Mahatmyam in English or Tamil as per the schedule you have provided. It will serve immense help for office goers like us to use this opportunity furitfully to contemplate on Devi. Thanks and very useful information. Since this is sent prior to Navarathri. Many Many Thanks.

May God bless you all.
