I got it to work once with the server but rebooted and lost my connection for that computer. Then I got it to work last night, went to bed, and when I checked it today at work it's not working.

I don't know, maybe it's me configuring it wrong but it seems pretty straight fwd Overall Review: I like it but maybe not with a web server Pros: Plug and play - I think the hardest part of the whole thing was threading all that cable through the house. Pros: Router part works great.

Never had a problem setting it up. Cons: Print Server is flaky. Anytime the cable modem hiccuped, the print server stopped working. To get it working again I had to reboot the router. This gets annoying after a while - especially when you want to print something but someone else is actively using the internet connection from another computer.

When I first purchased it I didn't need a wireless network. A couple years ago I added on a netgear access point and had no problem getting it working with the router.

With current prices though, I personally wouldn't buy this router anymore. I just replaced my setup with a linksys wrt54gl upgraded to dd-wrt firmware. The linksys doens't have an integrated printserver but I'll add a separate printserver if I ever need it. Pros: This is the quickest I have ever gotten a piece of this type of gear going. We are talking less then 10 minutes. Basically, the time to hook it up according to the directions and turn it on.

It is replacing a cisco that was having to be reset ever hour or so. Replace it with a Netgear Switch and then decided I needed a firewall so got this device. I have tried several brands, none came anywhere near this for ease of use and set up. Netgear is my gear from this point forward.

Overall Review: The manual is very well laid out, it makes any set up one wishes to do a breeze, also provides suggestions and advise on things to do and not do. I am sold on Netgear. I have not tried to use the print port yet.

I am estatic at the lack of hassel this gear brings to my little corner of the world. Be happy to forward my Cisco router to the guy that thinks it is the cats meow. Pros: Easy to set up, cool little lights. Got rid of unknown traffic on my cable internet connection. Overall Review: I think I've got it configured right, the software was maybe a little less than perfectly intuitive. Thanks to all the reviewers who know more than I and recommended this device.

Pros: I'm switching the Netgear 3-year warranty from a "con" to a "pro" versus the other vendor's "lifetime" warranty, which sounds great but in practice is probably no better and may actually be worse.

See my previous review with the same title. Overall Review: This is an update my previous review with the same title.

The FRP continues to be a solid performer. In my previous review I thought the Netgear 3-year warranty was a disadvantage compared to the lifetime warranty of the product it replaced. This is not so. The other vendor's "lifetime" warranty is only for the life of the particular product in production, in this case just about three years.

It is now discontinued so they won't repair or replace it. At least the Netgear warranty has a fixed time frame. The other guys' could end their coverage anytime they choose to "end-of-life" the product! My other comments about the print server still apply. Pros: More stable connectivity than previous router, robust physical construction. Cons: Shorter warranty than competing unit, no USB printer port, print server installation a little ragged. Overall Review: I thought my previous router was pretty good until it failed after 4 years continuous service.

However, the FRP beats it for more solid connections and its metal cabinet is more rugged than plastic and dissipates heat better. I would have given this unit 5 stars if it had a USB printer port and came with a lifetime warranty. However, it's from the same vendor as the unit that died on me and also had connection problems with some computers. So I opted to spend a little more for the Netgear and so far I am glad I did. Pros: Good user interface, fairly easy to understand, stable and reliable.

I have the v1. The security features are very good. Cons: The VPN support is not so good. Troubleshooting those connections when you first set them up is tricky. If you are a VPN user, I'd give it 3 stars. Also, you have to manually reenter parameters when you upgrade firmware; that sucks.
