They travel in groups to entertain and perform shows. People in Westeros believe that the god has seven aspects and Stranger is one of the seven aspects of the god according to the "Faith of Seven". People worship it rarely since it is related to death and believed to lead the dead to wherever they go after death.
Silent sisters are kind of undertakers and are sworn to the service of Stranger. They kinda deliver the dead to Stranger. Im having a tough time getting through this book. Aaron Okuyo Toponce Ugh. I feel your pain. This book is a HARD read. I feel that this is the slowest and hardest book to get through in the series up through book 5. It's …more Ugh. It's highly political, with a lot of family posturing.
Cersei is clearly the focal point of the book, and if you pay attention, you can see her character actually change I won't spoil anything. But, her chapters are a snore. Just get through it. It sucks. I get it, but it is worth it, as some character stories continue at the end of book 5, and you'll be glad you read book 4. I've been reading book 3 and this one feels boring to me.
Does anything of consequence happen in book four? Martin Gilmour I found book 3 hard going and missed the characters who weren't in this one. It does get a bit better towards the end and has some plot links with book 5 as they happen at the same time - book 5 is a lot better so its worth powering through to get back to the good characters less.
I'm getting ready for a cross country drive and don't really have time to sit down and read it. Thinking of sitting down to listen to it instead.
I always prefer reading to listening, but I'm debating that this might be better to listen to, since I've had a hard time getting into it so far. Reanna Phillips I'm listening to the audiobook right now, and I think it's wonderful in this format!
You may as well give it a try :. Does anyone know why Obara wants to go to Oldtown to avenge her father's death? Why not Kings Landing? In the "Captain of the Guards" chapter, when she visits Prince Doran, she says, "Let me avenge my father. Lyra Byrnes Oldtown is almost entirely sponsored by Highgarden, so waging a battle Dorne has a good chance of winning unlike one with Highgarden directly, which …more Oldtown is almost entirely sponsored by Highgarden, so waging a battle Dorne has a good chance of winning unlike one with Highgarden directly, which has a huge, well-funded army would provoke HG's ostensible allies, the Lannisters, into a war.
Add to that, such a war could draw the Lannister forces to Dorne itself which, as Tyene points out, historically fights well when on defense. It may matter that Obara's mother was an Oldtown whore, and because she worships her father Oberyn, destroying the city would psychologically "destroy" the half of herself she wants to obliterate and deny.

I fuochi di Valyria (d George R.R. Martin)
